Erase Cranes ( Modeling )

Tool summary :

  • Deletes the cranes that you select. Crane placements associated with the selected cranes are deleted also.

  Step-by-step instructions :

Before erasing cranes, you should Open ( Ctrl + o ) a view in Modeling that shows the cranes you want to erase. You can do either step 1 (preselection) or step 3 (in-tool selection) to perform this operation.

1 (optional) : Select the one or more cranes that you want to erase. There's multiple ways to do this.

Method 1 : Move your mouse pointer ( ) over the first crane that you want, then left-click ( Select ) to select the crane. Hold down the Shift key and left-click ( Select + ) any additional cranes that you want to erase.

Method 2 : Set the selection filter to ' Cranes ', then draw an area box to select cranes.

Method 3 : In the Model Tree , click the [+] for the " Cranes " category, then select the name(s) of the crane(s) you want to erase.

2 . Invoke Erase Cranes using any one (1) of the following methods:

Method 1 : Click the Erase Cranes icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Model -- Cranes ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Model > Crane > Erase Cranes .

Method 3, 4 or 5 : Erase Cranes can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

Method 6 : Right-click ( Menu ) and choose Crane > Erase Cranes on the context menu

3 . Skip this step if you already selected one or more cranes in step 1.

3a (if you didn't preselect) : The status line prompts you to use Select Item(s) mode options to Select or Select + one or more cranes to erase. You can also select cranes by drawing an area box or using the Model Tree . Press the Enter key or right-click ( Menu ) and choose " OK " on the menu when you are done selecting the crane(s).

4 . Erase Cranes erases the crane(s) that you selected in step 1 or step 3. Please note the following:

  • When you erase a crane, you also erase all crane placements that are associated with that crane.
  • When a crane placement is erased, all lifts that have been assigned to that crane placement are also erased.
