Toggle UCS
Tool summary :
- Turns the user coordinate system (UCS) on or off.
- If you use the icon, or switches the UCS axes to on ( shown ) or to off ( inactive ). The UCS is on when the icon is gray .
- The default UCS, which is active when you press " Toggle UCS " for the first time in a Modeling session, aligns with global coordinates . In the Drawing Editor , the default UCS aligns with screen coordinates .

- When UCS axes are shown (on), the Offset Controls can use the UCS, ORTHO will use the UCS, and the X-Y-Z display will report UCS coordinates. If the UCS plane is parallel with screen coordinates , then temporary construction lines will align, at 45° increments, with the UCS axes .
- When UCS axes are not shown (off), the UCS system is off, and ORTHO will use screen axes , not UCS axes , to locate points.

To invoke Toggle UCS :
Method 1 : Click the Toggle UCS icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Locate ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).
Method 2, 3 & 4 : Toggle UCS can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .
Setup :
- You can set the on-screen position of the UCS axes to a corner such as ' Upper left ' by making the appropriate entry to User and Site Options > Modeling > " Indicator position ."
