Isolate Group Member by Location ( Modeling )

Tool summary :

• Brings a group member into isolation so that you can create views that you want shown on the member detail when you Detail Member Groups .
• The " MAIN VIEW " that is shown for a group member is originally set to be the view that the user was in when Create Group Member was used to create the group member. In isolation, you can alter the main view . You can also cut views from the " MAIN VIEW " of the group member.

   Step-by-step instructions :

The following instructions assume that you are in Modeling using a 3-button mouse. You can do either step 1c (preselection) or step 3 (in-tool selection) to perform this operation.

1 . Before using this tool:

1a : Confirm the group member you want to be isolated has undergone Process and Create Solids .

1b (optional) : You may want to set the selection filter to ' Group Member '.

Select Items bindings ( step 1c)

1c (optional) : In Select Items mode with an appropriate selection filter selected, left-click ( Select ) the one (1) group member that you want to isolate. When a group member has been selected, it is displayed in the User and Site Options > Modeling > " Primary selection color ," which by default is green.

2 . Invoke Isolate Group Member by Location using the following method:

Method 1 : Click the Isolate Group Member by Location icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Model -- Group Member ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Model > Group Member > Isolate Group Member by Location .

Method 3, 4 or 5 : Isolate Group Member by Location can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

3 . Skip this step if you already selected a member in step 1c.

Select One Item bindings

3a (if you didn't preselect) : You are now prompted to use Select One Item mouse bindings to left-click ( Select ) the one group member you want to isolate. This prompting also occurs if more than one group member is selected or if, for example, a material or bolt is selected.

4 . The isolation program opens preset view number 0 for the particular group member you selected. Preset view number 0 is that member's " MAIN VIEW ." The group member is displayed per User and Site Options > Modeling > " Member isolation solid display type ."

Tip 1: An alternative to adding views in member isolation is to Detail Member Groups , then use Section View in the Drawing Editor to create the views you want. The views created this way will also be added to the list of views in member isolation.

Tip 2: To exit member isolation, press the " OK " button on the Isolate Member toolbox.
