Layer Mode ( Drawing Editor )

Tool summary :

  • Lets you invoke -- via your mouse -- commands for adding, hiding, showing, or deleting layers.
  • Modes can be reconfigured by users in Mode Configuration . This documentation explains the defaults for this mode.
  • To activate Layer Mode :
    • Method 1 : Click the Layer Mode icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Objects -- Layers ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

    • Method 2 : If " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Objects > Layers > Layer Mode .

    • Method 3, 4 or 5 : Layer Mode can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

    • Note: If you have nested this mode inside another mode using Mode Configuration , you can invoke this mode's mouse bindings from within that other mode by clicking the appropriate mouse button. To bring back the mouse bindings of the original mode, use Mode Return (or Esc ).
  • 3-button mouse bindings with scroll wheel:

    Add
    Edit Hide

  • If you find yourself stuck while executing a command and want to bring back the original mouse bindings, click the mouse button for Return (usually right-click). If Return is not shown on the mouse binding reporter, press Esc to execute Mode Return .
