Restore Selection ( Modeling & Drawing Editor )

Tool summary :

  • Restores the previous selection if you have cleared that selection or made a different selection.
  • For example, restore selection can restore a selection that you lost or altered by selecting a different item, or by selecting additional items ( Select+ ), or by deselecting from the selection ( Select- ), or by left-clicking ( Select ) in space, or by doing a Clear Selection .
  • Restore Selection can be used in Select Items mode in Modeling or in the Drawing Editor .

Step-by-step instructions :

1 . Invoke Restore Selection using any one (1) of the following methods:

Method 1 : Click the Restore Selection icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Selection ' ( Modeling ) or ' Selection ' ( Drawing Editor ) and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If the " Modeling layout style " or " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Edit > Restore Selection .

Method 3, 4 or 5 : Restore Selection can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface . The default context menu is configured to allow you to right-click ( Menu ) and choose " Restore Selection " whenever a previous selection has been cleared.

2 . The previously selected item(s) are selected again. To indicate that they are selected, Restore Selection displays the items in a color other than their normal color (in Modeling , the " Primary selection color "). If an item not included in the selection was selected before step 1, that item is now deselected.
