Select All Members by Piecemark ( Modeling )

Tool summary :

  • Click one member to select all members in Modeling that share the clicked member's piecemark.

    Select One Item mouse bindings.
  • Members not in your current view will be selected if they share the same piecemark as the one member you left-click ( Select ).
  • When " View By " is set to 'Member Piecemark " in the Model Tree , an annotation such as B_100 (6/12) tells you that six B_100 members reside in your current view, but a total of twelve B_100 members reside in the entire model. This means, for example, if you activate this tool and click one of those B_100 members, all twelve such members will be selected, even though only six of those members reside in your current view.
  • You can tell how many members this tool selects by looking at the Selected count toolbar item. For the B_100 (6/12) example discussed above, the Selected count would be 12.
  • In the Model Tree , you are limited members that are in your current view. This tool lets you click one member to select all members under the clicked member's piecemark, even if some of those members are not in your current view.
  • Once the members are selected, you can perform operations such as Solid Opaque or Update Attributes (be sure to press " By Area ") or Mark for Processing . Multi-edit could also be done, but it is usually preferable to use Edit Members by Piecemark to edit all members under the same mark.
  • To activate this tool, click the Select All Members by Piecemark icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Model -- Member ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning). Select all Members by Piecemark can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .
