Status Report by Detail (data from 3D model and/or drawings)

Tool summary :

Outputs a report that lets you review the status of members that you select by piecemark. You also select the status categories that you want included in the report.

The Status Report by Detail window (represented below) features the status categories that you can select when outputting this report.

Check (

) the boxes for categories to include in the report. Checking the box for a single category gives you a complete report on the assignment made in that category to the members you select to be included in the report.

The Status Report by Detail window gives you the power to configure output in hundreds of different ways, resulting in unique reports that are suitable for different uses within your organization.
For example, you can output a report that can be used to track structural members through the process of approval, fabrication, and shipping.
Member status for this report is read from the Member Status Review window. Drawing status is read from the Drawing Data window.

An example of a Status Report by Detail :

Note that drawing status applies to all members with the same piecemark that are depicted on the drawing, while member status is presented for each member number ( [5] , [6] and [15] ) that is under the piecemark. Also note that " Sequence " is listed under member status, but not drawing status. See status categories for an explanation of each of the categories that can optionally be output to this report.

How to output a Status Report by Detail :

1 . Before output of this report:

1a : A Status Report by Detail can be output before or after automatic detailing of members. However, if you attempt to generate the report before automatic detailing, a warning listing piecemarks without drawings will be generated, and the notation "Drawing status: No drawing" will appear on the report.

1b : This report is compiled from the 3D model and from member details and other databases in your current Job. When you Process & Create Solids and Detail Members , you effectively update these databases in your current Job and thereby ensure that this report is up to date.

1c : Data is tracked automatically for some status categories that can be output to this report. For other categories, you will get " **NOT SET** " on the report if entries have not yet been made using Update Attributes or Member Status Review or Drawing Data .

2 . Use any one (1) of the following methods to begin output of this report:

Method 1 : Home > Reports > System Reports > Status > Status Report by Detail .

Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " or " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Reports > Status Report > Status Report by Detail.

Methods 3 : Click the Status Report by Detail icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Reports ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning). Ribbon configuration is done using Customize Interface .

3 . The Status Report by Detail window opens.

You must check at least one category to get a report. Information is output for each status category that you check ( ).

Alternative 1 : Check the boxes for the status categories that you want to describe the members included in the report (you can select as many status categories as you like), then press " OK ." Go to step 4.

Alternative 2 : Press " Cancel " to end this operation without generating the report. Do not continue.

4 . A selection dialog opens. On it is a list of members (by piecemark ) in your current Job.

The button under " Destination " can temporarily redirect report output. In this example, that button is named " Screen " to reflect that the output is to the report viewer .

Alternative 1 : Select the members you want the report to be about, then press " OK " to output the report. Go to step 5.

Alternative 2 : Press " Cancel " to end this operation without generating the report. Do not continue.

5 . The Status Report by Detail is output.

Note: If you output the report to the report viewer (" Screen "), you can now review the report on screen then optionally print it or output it to disk (see report viewer ).
