Hatch Erase ( Drawing Editor )

Tool summary :

  • Lets you delete one or multiple hatches or fills that you select. Selection filtering is built in.
  • For hatches added using Hatch Add Define Polygon , deleting the hatch also deletes the polygon sides that make up the defined polygon that borders the hatch or fill.
  • If you preselect multiple types of objects, Hatch Erase deletes only those hatches or fills that were part of your preselection. Click here for an example. Preselection is done in Select Items mode. Here are the steps:

    Select Items bindings (for preselection)

    1. Draw an area box or hold down the Shift key and left-click ( Select+ ) several objects of the same type or of different types.
    2. Invoke Hatch Erase .
    3. The hatches or fills are deleted. All other objects that were in your selection continue to exist.
  • In-tool selection takes place when you invoke Hatch Edit with nothing selected or with object types other than hatches or fills selected. The tool brings up Select Item(s) mouse bindings, and the status line prompts you select hatches or fills. Here are the steps:

    1. Invoke Hatch Erase .

      Select Item(s) bindings are activated.
    2. Select one or more objects. Built-in selection filtering restricts you to selecting hatches or fills. Press the Enter key when you are done selecting the objects.
    3. The hatches or fills are deleted.
  • To invoke Hatch Erase :

    ▸ Click the Hatch Erase icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Objects -- Hatch ' and placed on the ribbon.

    ▸ Hatch Erase can also be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . Configuration of the interface is done using Customize Interface .
