   Step-by-step instructions :

Ungroup Group Member breaks the association of members to a group member. You must do step 1d (preselection) or step 3 (in-tool selection) to perform this operation.

1 . Before using this tool:

1a : A group member must have been created using Create Member Group .

1b : Open ( Ctrl + o ) a view that includes the group member that you want to ungroup.

1c (optional) : Set " Automatically process after modeling operation " to ' Process and create solids ' (or, possibly, to ' Use Site Default ') if you want the members affected by this operation to automatically undergo Process and Create Solids in step 5.

Select Items bindings (step 1d).

1d (optional) : Left-click ( Select ) the group member you want to ungroup. Group members can be selected when the selection filter is set to ' Default ' or ' All ' or ' Group Members '.

2 . Invoke Ungroup Group Member using any one of the following methods:

Method 1 : Click the Ungroup Group Member icon, which is pictured above. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Model -- Group Member ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Model > Group Member > Ungroup Group Member .

Method 3, 4 or 5 : Ungroup Group Member can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

3 . Skip this step if you preselected one or more group members in step 1d.

Select Item(s) bindings

3a (if you didn't preselect) : Ungroup Group Member prompts you to use Select Item(s) mouse bindings to select one or more group members. You can also select the group member(s) by drawing an area box or using the Model Tree . Press the Enter key or right-click ( Menu ) and choose " OK " on the menu when you are done selecting the group member(s).

4 . Ungroup Group Member opens a yes-no confirmation dialog. It tells you how many group members you have selected.

Alternative 1 : Press the " Yes " button to ungroup the group member(s) you selected. References to the group member piecemark are removed. If the group member has been detailed, its detail is deleted. The members that were a part of the group continue to exist, but they are no longer grouped together. Go to step 5.

Alternative 2 : Press the " No " button (or the Esc key) to cancel this operation. Do not continue.

5 . What happens next depends on the choice made to User and Site Options > Modeling > " Automatically process after modeling operation ."

If " Automatically process ... " is set to ' Process and create solids ', the members affected by this operation automatically undergo Process and Create Solids , resulting in solids being created. Also, new piecemarks may be assigned. Any ungrouped members that are exactly like non-grouped members that have different piecemarks will be combined under those piecemarks.

If " Automatically process ... " is set to ' Do nothing ' or ' Process ', the affected members will all be in stick. You will have to Process > Process and Create Solids to have the members undergo piecemarking and to make them able to be displayed in a solid form .
