Hole Mode ( Modeling )

Tool summary :

  • Lets you invoke -- via your mouse -- commands for adding, modifying, or deleting holes.
  • Modes can be reconfigured by users in Mode Configuration . This documentation explains the defaults for this mode.
  • To activate Hole Mode :
    • Method 1 : Click the Hole Mode icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' Model -- Hole ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

    • Method 2 : If " Modeling layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose Model > Hole > Hole Mode .

    • Method 3, 4 or 5 : Hole Mode can also be configured to be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the lightning interface, this configuration is done using Customize Interface .

    • Note: If you have nested this mode inside another mode using Mode Configuration , you can invoke this mode's mouse bindings from within that other mode by clicking the appropriate mouse button. To bring back the mouse bindings of the original mode, use Mode Return (or Esc ).
  • 3-button mouse bindings with a scroll wheel:

    no key pressed
    Add
    Edit Erase

  • To quickly edit / review hole groups, turn " Bolts " off in Display Options , left-click ( Edit ) a hole, then press Enter .
  • If you find yourself stuck while executing a command and want to bring back the original mouse bindings, click the mouse button for Return (usually right-click). If Return is not shown on the mouse binding reporter, press Esc to execute Mode Return .
  • For example, Add Hole brings you into a loop for repeating the command over again -- right-click ( Return ) when you are done adding holes.
